Lucky for me the rest of his army got demolished quite quickly due to a major fuck up where he threw away his air units early and left his artillery and archers wide open to cav attacks because his slayers ran away from my mortars, so I could concentrate on his ord after with penty of melee units but when it was all over I had my lord and one empire knight left, literally two horses against this dwarf, who with less than 1/8 his hit points left destroyed 1/4 of my empire captain and 1/2 my lord's hit points without me landing a shot. Granted I usually have a high level empire captain with all melee stats to support my lord and this particular empire captain was only level 2, intended for use on the campaign map, however AFAIK this dwarven legendary lord (slayer king) didn't have any melee boosts either and he easily won hands down against two opponents simultaneously.
it was only through tricks and repeated charging and pre-exhausting using halberdier units that i finally got him down. In multiplayer head to head the dwarven legendary lord at level 28 against a regular lord of mine (level 30) on a barded war horse, which is the best offensive mount I could think of, plus an empire captain both got their asses handed to them.
